Reserve day 22 Jan is now cancelled.

10 JAN 2017 | BY ANDREW KAHOFER

Good afternoon all

I’m sure clubs by now are aware of issues the competition confronted at the weekend with the double header T20’s
In Championship no deck was prepared at Bonbeach # 2 and at Namatjira Park captains and umpires declared the pitch unsafe

In Championship games not completed were Beaumaris v Bentleigh and Bonbeach v Hampton
In Division 4 Chelsea did not play Heatherton or Bentleigh

Firstly I would like to acknowledge the assistance of Bentleigh and Hampton in quickly arranging a late start at Bentleigh to get one of the games completed leaving us with 2 Championship T20 games to be replayed and 2 Division 4 games to take place.

It was made very clear to me and has been expressed at CSB Board meetings that the second reserve day was first and foremost to be used for this double header T20 round.
As a result the proposed replay of Round 2 for grades Championship to Division 4 which are already subject to a number of ground clash issues with other associations will not be replayed and that the draws from that game will all be reinstated in the results/ladders.

As much as we wanted the 2 unplayed games from Championship to take place on Saturday the disruption, late starts and travel involved means I believe the correct decision on the day was made not to force Hampton to return to Bonbeach or Beaumaris to make their way to Bentleigh but we do have a gazetted reserve day to enable these games to take place.

On January 22nd Beaumaris will host Bentleigh and Hampton will host Bonbeach in the two T20 games, whilst in Division 4 Chelsea will play their games against Heatherton and Bentleigh at Heatherton.

This use of the second reserve day ensures we have results for these games and we can head towards White Ball finals

Bonbeach will subject to further penalties from CSB for the failure to prepare the deck

But to confirm that for the remainder of the competition the reserve day #2 will now not proceed leaving these 4 T20 games and the normal Sunday one day grade to play.
